The 2016 Salmonid Restoration Conference

The 34th Annual Salmonid Restoration Conference will be held from April 6-9, 2016 in Fortuna, CA at the beautiful River Lodge overlooking the Eel River. The theme of the upcoming conference is Salmonid Restoration in Working Watersheds.

The conference on Friday and Saturday is sold out, but registration is still open for some field tours, workshops, and special events. Click here for details or to register online.

The first two days of the conference from April 6-7 include full-day workshops and field tours. Friday, April 8 begins with a half-day plenary session followed by 1.5 days of technical, biological, and policy-related concurrent sessions. This conference will focus on a broad range of salmonid and watershed restoration topics of concern to restoration practitioners, watershed scientists, fisheries biologists, resource agency personnel, land-use planners, and landowners. A Note on Registration For Our Valued Our Co-Sponsors

Thank you for supporting the upcoming Salmonid Restoration Conference. Your co-sponsorship entitles your company or agency to at least one conference registration pass and one banquet ticket.

To register using a co-sponsor pass, print out the registration form and fill out the requested information.

  • On the Member or Non-Member Conference Fee line, please write in "Sponsor."
  • If you would like a sponsor banquet ticket, write "Sponsor" on the Banquet Fee line.
  • If you will be attending any workshops or field tours, please note that the fees for those events are not covered under a co-sponsorship. Payment for workshops and field tours should be included with your registration information.

Workshops and Field Tours, April 6-7, 2016

Wednesday and Thursday workshops and field tours are 9am to 5pm. Field tours depart promptly at 9am so please come to the facility early to pick up your registration packet and pack a lunch for the day. Vans are provided for field tours.

Special Events that Require Registration

  • Annual SRF Membership Meeting and Dinner: The Salmonid Restoration Federation (SRF) Annual Membership Meeting will be at 5:15pm on Thursday, April 7 followed by a networking social and membership dinner.
  • Conference Cabaret and Banquet: The banquet on April 9 includes a wild Copper River salmon dinner, local wine and beer, and awards ceremony, fun-filled Cabaret, and a lively band. The banquet will most likely sell out so please buy your tickets in advance.
  • Presenting at the Poster Session: The poster session on Friday, April 8 is free to attend for all conference participants and is an excellent networking opportunity. You only need to register for the poster session if you wish to present a poster.

Meals

Registration on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday (April 6-9, 2016) includes lunch, either at the facility if you are staying on site or a packed lunch if you are going on a field tour.

Evening meals during the conference are optional on the following dates:

  • Thursday, April 7: The SRF Annual Membership Meeting and Dinner begins at 5:15pm. Please purchase tickets in advance and they may be available at the door. Free beer is included at the membership dinner!
  • Friday, April 8: Appetizers will be available during the Conference Poster Session from 7-10pm. Wine and beer will be for sale.
  • Saturday, April 9: The Annual Conference Banquet and Cabaret is a conference highlight. The SRF banquet in Fortuna always sells out. Please purchase your tickets in advance to ensure a banquet ticket.

All meals will feature locally sourced and organic ingredients whenever possible.
