11/9/22- Lawsuit Challenges Humboldt County’s Environmental Impact Report for Nordic Aquafarms Project; Five Appeals Filed With Coastal Commission, Ryan Burns, Lost Coast Outpost.
7/15/22- Notice of Public Hearing Humboldt County Planning Commission: public meeting on July 28, 2022 at 6:00 PM. Public comments may be submitted before the meeting and are due July 27, 2022 by 12:00 pm. See link for details.
12/20/21- Notice of Availability of Draft Environmental Impact Report: The Humboldt County Planning and Building Department will receive public comments on the DEIR through February 18, 2022.
6/8/21- Notice of Preparation of Draft EIR and Public Scoping Meeting for Nordic Aquafarms Project: public meeting on June 10, 2021 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM
6/7/21- In response to comments on the MND, Humboldt County has prepared a notice of preparation (NOP) for a Draft Environmental Impact Report (EIR). Public comments for the NOP are due on July 7, 2021
6/1/21- Lost Coast Oupost Update: Nordic Aquafarms Agrees to Conduct Full Environmental Impact Report for Its Land-Based Fish Farm on the Samoa Peninsula
5/18/21- The Regional Water Board released its draft ocean discharge permit for the project. Comments are due June 4.
04/24/21- Public Comments for Nordic Aquafarms Mitigated Negative Declaration are due by May 24 to the Humboldt County Planning Department. Click here to see the MND and how to submit comments.
2/04/21- Nordic Aquafarms will be holding a town hall/community meeting to discuss their permit applications and recent study results next Thursday,Feb. 11 at 6 pm PST via Zoom: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/85877678524
12/2/20- Specialized studies for the Coastal Development Permit and Special Permit proposal (Case No. PLN-2020-16698) have been prepared and are undergoing peer review. These studies will be distributed when they become available for public review.
11/09/20- Nordic Aquafarms is holding weekly meetings for the Humboldt Bay community to learn more about their proposed project.
