Leaving a legacy gift is one of the most meaningful ways to support an organization that shares your values and goals. Remember SRF by offering a gift from your estate to help ensure the continuation and celebration of salmon life and restoration culture on the West Coast.
Percentage: Designates the percentage of your estate that you want distributed to SRF.
Specific: Designates a specific dollar amount or a specific asset to SRF.
Residual: SRF will receive the remainder of your estate, or a designated percentage, after all necessary costs and bequests to others have been satisfied.
Contingent: Assumes that you want to leave your entire estate to family and friends. However, if you outlive any beneficiary, you can instruct that SRF receives that portion of the estate.
Here is some sample bequest language that you can use to specify your gift type and/or amount:
Percentage: “I give, devise and bequeath to Salmonid Restoration Federation located at 818 Redwood Drive, Garberville, CA 95542, (tax identification number 68-0187121), ____% of my estate.”
Specific: “I give, devise and bequeath to Salmonid Restoration Federation located at 818 Redwood Drive, Garberville, CA 95542, (tax identification number 68-0187121), ___________:
Residual: “I give, devise and bequeath to Salmonid Restoration Federation located at 818 Redwood Drive, Garberville, CA 95542, (tax identification number 68-0187121), all the residue of my estate, including real personal property.”
Contingent: “In the event of the death of any of the beneficiaries, I give, devise and bequeath to Salmonid Restoration Federation located at 818 Redwood Drive, Garberville, CA 95542, (tax identification number 68-0187121, (percentage, specific, or residual language as above).” If you would like your bequest to be used for a specific program, add the following language: “to be used for _________________________.” [describe purpose, for example: the Redwood Creek Water Conservation Project].
