SRF Conference Registration Now Open
SRF Conference registration for the 39th Annual Salmonid Restoration Conference is now open. Due to COVID-19 we will be requiring proof of vaccination or recent PCR test results. Additionally, we will be opening registration at half-capacity (350 people) at this time.
SRF is arranging on-site testing for the first days of the conference and we will follow all CDC and Santa Cruz public health guidelines to produce a safe event.

The final workshop, field tour, and session descriptions and agenda are now posted.
SRF received an unprecedented number of abstracts so if you submitted a presentation that was not accepted, please consider presenting in the poster session.
SRF Conference - Call for Awards
Please submit 200 words or more to nominate candidates for the illustrious Restorationist of the Year Award, the Golden Pipe Award for Innovation, the Lifetime Achievement Award, and the Gordon Becker Memorial River Advocate Award.
These awards will be presented at the 2022 Salmonid Restoration Conference. Nominations should be sent to srf@calsalmon.org by February 11, 2022. Please write "Award Nominations" in the subject line.
2022 SRF Conference - Poster Session Now Open
The Poster Session will likely be 7-10 pm on Thursday, April 21 at the Cocoanut Grove (the conference venue). This annual event is open to all conference attendees and is a great venue to network with your peers.

Featured SRF Conference Workshop:
Beaver and Wood
The scale and severity of river impairment globally cannot be meaningfully addressed solely using traditional hard-engineering restoration approaches. This workshop will be an opportunity to share recent developments in the evolving science and practice of low-tech process-based restoration (LTPBR) of riverscapes. Featured SRF Conference Tour:
Rancho Cañada Restoration Project
The tour will focus on the lower portion of the Carmel River watershed where the Rancho Cañada Golf Course is being removed and restoration of the site for public access, parklands, and river restoration are being planned. Staff from the NMFS, Monterey Peninsula Regional Park District, Trout Unlimited, California Coastal Conservancy, McBain Associates, and others will provide an overview of the project and tour of the restoration site. Online Water Transaction Workshop
5:30 pm on Jan 18, 2022
SRF and Trout Unlimited are hosting an online Water Transaction workshop at 5:30pm on January 18, 2022. This workshop is designed for landowners to learn more about flow enhancement efforts in Mendocino County, winter water storage for use in the summer, and the permitting pathways for various types of water projects both domestic and agricultural. Suggested donation is $10 but anyone can attend this workshop by registering.
The Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act creates significant funding opportunities to address habitat protection and restoration, water quality and quantity issues, fish passage, and to improve the resiliency of watersheds in the face of climate change. The Wild Salmon Center has created this summary as a helpful overview of the breadth of funding opportunities.
Pacific Lamprey Distribution Data
In 2022, the Pacific Lamprey Conservation Initiative (PLCI) and its Regional Management Units (RMUs) will be working with their partners to revise the Pacific Lamprey Assessment. If your organization has collected Pacific Lamprey distribution information within the last five years and you haven't already shared that data with PLCI lamprey distribution database manager, they would love to hear from you! Please send any new Pacific Lamprey distribution data here by COB on January 21, 2022.
