Conference Registration Still Open
The 41st Annual Salmonid Restoration Conference will be held in Santa Rosa, California from March 26-29, 2024. Conference registration is open and the sessions, workshops, and field tour agendas are posted online.

SRF Poster Session
Register by March 11, 2024
The Poster Session will be 7-10 pm on Thursday, March 28 at the Hyatt Regency. This annual event is open to all conference attendees and is a great venue to network with your peers.

Featured Workshop: Nature-Like Fishways
This workshop will occur over two days and will be instructed by several leading practitioners in the field of nature-like fishway implementation, including representatives from both private and public agencies. The goal of the workshop is to share knowledge of nature-like fishway design and long-term stability observations among practitioners, regulators, and operators to improve the collective awareness of contemporary NLF science and design methodologies to ultimately provide more effective and sustainable passage for fish. The Annual Membership Dinner is a fun-filled networking event. You do not need to be a member to attend. The dinner will be held at the Saralee Barn at the Sonoma Fairgrounds which is where the conference workshops and tours are held. Learn more here.

SRF Annual Membership Meeting

The Annual SRF Membership Meeting is open to all and offers an opportunity to meet other members as well as SRF's dedicated Board of Directors and staff. SRF's Executive Director, Dana Stolzman, will provide an update on our accomplishments over the past year as well as our plans and projects for the coming year. If you are interested in learning about serving on the SRF Board, please consider attending. SRF Board terms are two years and we have elected directors and appointed alternates. Learn more here.

Siskiyou Water Transaction Workshop
SRF, Trout Unlimited, and Scott River Watershed Council hosted a Water Transaction workshop in February in coordination with the SWIF training. This workshop was designed for landowners to learn more about appropriative and riparian water rights, winter water storage for use in the summer, and the permitting pathways for various types of water projects both domestic and agricultural. Save the Date - 26th Annual Coho Confab
September 13-15, 2024, Rock Creek Ranch
SRF, with the support of California Department of Fish and Wildlife, will host the 26th Annual Coho Confab at the beautiful Rock Creek Ranch on the South Fork of the Smith River. The pristine Smith River is the largest undammed river in California and is located in the northwest corner of the state in the Siskiyou Mountains. Learn more here.

CDFW Fisheries Restoration Grant Program
Due April 18
The California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) is now accepting full applications for projects under the Fisheries Restoration Grant Program (FRGP). The 2024 FRGP Proposal Solicitation Notice and 2024 FRGP Guidelines outline the priorities and requirements to apply.

Environmental Justice Small Grants Program
Application Open March 11
Justice Outside, a champion organization in advancing racial justice and equity in the outdoor and environmental movement, is working closely with Ocean Protection Council to steward the Environmental Justice Small Grants Program through their Liberated Paths Grantmaking Program. Passage Assessment Database (PAD) Expert Review
March 20, 2024, 10am-12pm
The PAD is a critical data tool in prioritizing and tracking barrier removals in California, and its impact depends on the input of Fish Passage Experts across the State of California. There is an effort underway to update PAD records across California with a current focus on watersheds within California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) Region 2 (North Central Region). 2024 National Coastal Resilience Fund RFP Now Open
NFWF will award approximately $140 million in grants to create and/or restore natural systems in order to increase protection for communities from coastal hazards while improving habitats for fish and wildlife species. The Request for Proposals is available here.
