North Coast Water Rights Workshop on May 17
SRF and Trout Unlimited will be hosting a water rights workshop for rural residential landowners at the Beginnings School in Briceland.
The workshop will discuss California water law including riparian and appropriative rights and related water laws. The workshop is designed for rural landowners, realtors, planners, and North Coast residents who want to learn about water rights and options for improving water security. It will include an optional clinic component to help landowners fill out Small Domestic Use or other permitting paperwork.
Erosion and Sediment Control BMP Workshop on June 6
Next month, SRF, Pacific Watershed Associates, and Five Counties Salmonid Conservation Program are hosting a Best Management Practices workshop and field tour of erosion control sites in Trinity County.
The workshop will highlight identifying and evaluating sediment sources, assessing environmental impacts, creating erosion control and prevention plans, designing and evaluating grading plans, and the environmental permitting application process.
8th Spring-run Chinook Symposium
Save the Date for July 26-28: The 8th Spring-Run Chinook Symposium in Chico, CA will highlight recent restoration efforts in Butte and Battle Creek, regional status reports on Spring-run populations, genetics, FERC relicensing, climate variability, and population trend monitoring.
Field tours will include visits to the legendary spawning grounds in Butte Creek and projects in critical creeks including Mill, Deer, and Antelope Creek that have been prioritized for instream flow enhancement and fish passage projects.
19th Annual Coho Confab
The Annual Coho Confab explores watershed restoration through the sharing and learning of restoration techniques to recover coho salmon populations, and enables fish-centric people to network and collaborate in an informal environment.
Save the Date for August 26-28: The 2016 Coho Confab will feature tours of large wood placement, water conservation efforts, stream bank stabilization, and fish passage projects.
This Confab will be at the beautiful Jughandle Creek Farm on the Mendocino Coast and registration will open in early June.

Restoration Projects Manager Position Open
The Morro Bay National Estuary Program is hiring for the position of Restoration Projects Manager.
Job responsibilities include developing and overseeing habitat restoration projects in the Morro Bay Watershed with an emphasis on restoration efforts that support improvement of water quality, enhancement of important habitats, and protection of the estuarine environment.

Klamath River Coho Enhancement RFP
The Klamath River Coho Enhancement Fund was developed to fund projects that will restore, enhance, and improve habitat, flows, and fish passage for the SONCC coho salmon in the Klamath River and/or its tributaries downstream of Iron Gate Dam.
