Conference Agenda Packet Now Posted
The 41st Annual Salmonid Restoration Conference will be held in Santa Rosa, California from March 26-29, 2024. Conference registration is open and the sessions, workshops, and field tour agendas are posted online.

Conference Lodging Options
The Hyatt Sonoma Wine Country is the conference venue. This group block is at the daily rate of $157 plus a daily resort fee of $10 per day. The grounds and facilities are beautiful and there’s nothing like the convenience of being right in the heart of the action! Parking is an additional fee of $9 per day. The Marriott Courtyard at 175 Railroad Street is also offering the federal per diem rate of $157 which includes breakfast. The Courtyard is across from the Hyatt. This rate includes breakfast and free parking. Here is the group block reservation link.
The Astro Motel is at 323 Santa Rosa Avenue is also offering a per diem rate of $127 which includes free breakfast and free parking. Here is the group block reservation link. You may also reserve your room by calling 707-200-4655, be sure to use the code "Salmonid."

SRF Conference - Call for Award Nominations
Due February 11, 2024
Please submit 200 words or more to nominate candidates for the illustrious Restorationist of the Year Award, the Golden Pipe Award for Innovation, the Lifetime Achievement Award, and the Gordon Becker Memorial River Advocate Award. Please find descriptions on the awards page.
These awards will be presented at the 2024 Salmonid Restoration Conference Banquet. Nominations should be sent to srf@calsalmon.org by February 11, 2024. Please write "Award Nominations" in the subject line.
SRF Poster Session
Register by March 11, 2024
The Poster Session will be 7-10 pm on Thursday, March 28 at the Hyatt Regency. This annual event is open to all conference attendees and is a great venue to network with your peers.

Featured Tour: Laguna de Santa Rosa
The Realizing a Vision of Multi-benefit Restoration in the Laguna de Santa Rosa/Mark West Creek Watershed Workshop and Field Tour will be held at the Laguna de Santa Rosa Environmental Center with site visits in the afternoon. This workshop will highlight a range of collaborative multi-benefit restoration efforts within the Laguna/Mark West Creek watershed focused on improving conditions for both fish and wildlife and the local community. The site visits will see completed and proposed restoration projects along the Laguna de Santa Rosa and tributary creeks. Learn more here.
Featured Workshop: Collaborative Success
The Community Outreach, Collaboration Tools, and Tribal Engagement Workshop will build your knowledge and personal tools for collaborative success. The morning will focus on the Fundamental Dynamics and Principles of Collaboration and the Personal Tools for Collaborative Success. The afternoon will focus on engagement with tribes including the regulatory background, best practices, and reviewing case studies. Learn more here.
SRF Conference Scholarship Fund
This year, SRF has received an unprecedented number of scholarship requests to attend the conference. If you are interested in contributing to the scholarship fund for young professionals, SRF will match all contributions.
Membership Dinner

The Annual Membership Dinner is a fun-filled networking event. You do not need to be a member to attend. The dinner will be held at the Saralee Barn at the Sonoma Fairgrounds which is where the conference workshops and tours are held. Learn more here.

Siskiyou Water Transaction Workshop
February 21, 2024 5:00 pm
SRF, Trout Unlimited, and Scott River Watershed Council will host a Water Transaction workshop in coordination with the SWIF training. This workshop was designed for landowners to learn more about appropriative and riparian water rights, winter water storage for use in the summer, and the permitting pathways for various types of water projects both domestic and agricultural. SRF College Scholarship
Due March 4, 2024
The Salmonid Restoration Federation Scholarship Fund is housed within the Humboldt Area Foundation Universal Application and specifically supports students studying fisheries or watershed management. Applicants must be California residents, but not necessarily Humboldt County Residents.

California Salmon Strategy
The Newsom administration published the document California Salmon Strategy for a Hotter, Drier Future: Restoring Aquatic Ecosystems in the Age of Climate Change. There are six priorities listed including removing barriers, improving habitat, and protecting flows.

Fish Passage Funding
Extended Due Date: Feb 16, 2024
The California Fish Passage Forum will award an estimated $250,000 - $350,000 in FY2025 for projects that advance its mission of protecting, restoring, and enhancing fish habitat – with the Forum’s specific focus on anadromous fish populations in California. Find application instructions here.
Rose Foundation Grants
The Rose Foundation supports grassroots initiatives that help build a world in which communities are empowered to promote stewardship of nature. The California Wildlands Grassroots Grant is due February 15 and the California Watershed Protection grant application is due February 24.
Klamath Basin Salmon Restoration 2024 Request for Proposals
This RFP is intended to solicit conservation projects to restore salmon habitat in the Klamath River mainstem and key tributaries through four grantmaking programs. The RFP can be found here. Pre-Proposals are due February 20, 2024.
California Fisheries Restoration Grants Program
Concept Proposals Open
The California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) is now accepting concept proposal applications for projects under the Fisheries Restoration Grant Program (FRGP). The 2024 FRGP Proposal Solicitation Notice and 2024 FRGP Guidelines outline the priorities and requirements to apply. The concept proposal application phase is open until March 4, 2024. The Full application is open March 5 through April 18, 2024.

Many watersheds in California receive most of their water in the winter, lack it in the summer, and don’t have a regulated water supply. These watersheds need collaboration in order to protect the salmonids. Learn more here.
