Save the Date: SRF 2021 Virtual Conference
April 21-23, 2021

SRF will be hosting a virtual conference April 21-23, 2021 that will feature intensive workshops, a Plenary session, selected concurrent sessions, a poster session, virtual exhibitor space, the SRF annual membership meeting, and a film screening fundraiser. If you did not request a refund for the 2020 Conference that was cancelled due to COVID-19, you will be automatically enrolled in this virtual conference.

The conference agenda will be posted soon, and registration will open shortly. Workshops will include Assessing Instream Flows, Accelerating Salmonid Recovery, and Speaking of Science. Concurrent sessions will feature dam removal, salmonid reintroductions, flow enhancement strategies, food webs, anadromous salmonid habitat suitability criteria, and understanding historical context to inform current salmonid recovery planning.

SRF Diversity and Equity Scholarship Program

In 2020, SRF created a scholarship fund to support students that are underrepresented in the watershed field. If you would like to donate to our scholarship fund, please contact us at info@calsalmon.org

Applications for the scholarship fund will be available through the Humboldt Area Foundation scholarship portal, starting January 15, 2021


Salmonid Recipe Cards Available

SRF and the National Marine Sanctuary Foundation collaborated on a series of educational projects this year, designed to promote sustainable seafood. These new recipe cards are available for free to the public, and we need your help distributing them! Please fill out our online form to order yours today.


SRF Restoration Webinar Series Archive

Last year, SRF launched an online webinar series to highlight themes from the 2020 Conference that will be explored when it is feasible to produce the Annual Salmonid Restoration Conference.

South Fork Eel River Low-Flow Monitoring Projects

SRF has been conducting low flow monitoring in Redwood Creek in the South Fork Eel watershed since 2013. Check out our website to see project resources, the low flow trajectory, and regular updates about this project, including this time-lapse of photos from Redwood Creek in 2020.

Marine Debris Program Funding

The NOAA Marine Debris Program's FY2021 North America Marine Debris Prevention and Removal grant competition is open and soliciting proposals for review. Applications are due January 29, 2021. The Notice of Funding Opportunity published at Grants.gov.

Saving Species Together Video Series Now Online

This joint agency project uses funding from a legal case about habitat damage to highlight imperiled coho salmon and other endangered California species in a new series of videos


Trout Unlimited Speaker Series

TU Staff and grassroots leaders will be hosting a staff speaker webinar series via Zoom in January and February. The first two talks will take place on January 14 (North Coast Coho and Central Coast Steelhead) and January 21 (Inland Trout and California Water Project) both at 6:30pm-7:30pm. California Grants Portal Now Open

The California State Library, in partnership with the State Water Resources Control Board and other state funding agencies, has launched the California Grants Portal – your one-stop destination to find all state grant and loan opportunities provided on a first-come or competitive basis.
