2020 SRF Conference - Membership Soiree

This year SRF and the Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary are featuring a special Membership Social on Wednesday, April 1 at the Sanctuary Exploration Center. Join us for a celebration of Salmon Science, Art, and Seafood featuring local chefs for a culinary tour of sustainable seafood, and organic tapas through the museum. This event will coincide with the unveiling of Ray Troll’s interactive California Salmonscape exhibit and will feature a series of salmon-centric film shorts. Please purchase your tickets in advance - we expect this special event to sell out!


2020 Conference Film Screening: ARTIFISHAL

FISHBIO will co-host a film screening of ARTIFISHAL at Patagonia's Santa Cruz store (415 River St #C, Santa Cruz, CA 95060) on Tuesday, March 31. Doors open at 7pm, the movie will start at 7:40pm. The film screening will be followed by a Q&A and panel discussion. There is no cost to attend the screening, but beer and food will be available for purchase.

2020 Annual SRF Membership Meeting

The Annual SRF Membership Meeting will be held on Thursday, April 2 during the upcoming SRF Conference in Santa Cruz. The annual meeting will be during lunch in the Bay View Terrace room at the Cocoanut Grove (400 Beach St, Santa Cruz, CA).

The Annual SRF Membership Meeting is open to all and offers an opportunity to meet other members, as well as SRF's dedicated Board of Directors and staff. SRF's Executive Director, Dana Stolzman, will provide an update on our accomplishments over the past year as well as our plans and projects for the coming year. If you are interested in learning about serving on the SRF Board, please consider attending. SRF Board terms are two years and we have elected directors and appointed alternates.


2020 SRF Conference Agenda is Online

The 38th Annual Conference will be held in Santa Cruz, California March 31-April 3, 2020. 

Final descriptions of the conference field toursworkshops, and sessions are now posted to the SRF website. The final agenda packet and 2020 Conference poster are posted online.

2020 SRF Conference Hotel and FAQs

The largest conference hotel block is at the Hotel Paradox, which has some rooms left at their premium rates. Please book soon to secure these great rates. Please see the Frequently Asked Questions section of our conference webpage to see how to secure these group rates.

2020 SRF Conference - Poster Session Directory Closes Monday

The Poster Session will be 7-10 pm on Thursday, April 2 at the Cocoanut Grove. This annual event is open to all conference attendees at no additional cost, and is a great venue to network with your peers. We encourage posters, pamphlet distribution, software exhibits, and multimedia (video) presentations.

SRRC is Hiring!

Salmon River Restoration Council is hiring a Fisheries Program Coordinator. To apply, submit a cover letter, résumé, and two references to lyra@srrc.org. Applications accepted until March 18th, 2020. 


EEEF Conference in Berkeley, CA

The Ecology and Evolutionary Ethology of Fishes (EEEF) Conference will be held in Berkeley, CA July 12-15, 2020. This is the first time it will be held in California since 2006. Abstracts and early registration are due March 31.


Smith River Dives: July 31

Smith River Alliance is happy to announce that the date of the 2020 Smith River Fish Count has been set for the weekend of July 31 - August 3. All the information about the event can be found on their website.

National Coastal Wetlands Conservation Grant Program

The Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) for the Fiscal Year 2021 round of the National Coastal Wetlands Conservation Grant Program has been published. The period for States to apply is open through June 26, 2020. The NOFO, along with the full application package, is available here.
