Final Call for 2025 SRF Conference Presenter Abstracts
Presenter Abstracts Due November 18
The 42nd Annual Salmonid Restoration Conference will be held in Santa Cruz, California from April 29 - May 2, 2025. Please visit our website to see the Final Call for Presenter Abstracts. Please note that the agenda evolves and the Final Call for Abstracts may include additional concurrent sessions. Session and workshop descriptions are posted and the field tour descriptions will be online shortly. Early abstract submission helps SRF determine which sessions and workshops will be in the final agenda. SRF’s Call for Abstracts is highly competitive and not all abstracts can be accepted. Presentations that have not been given before at our conference will have priority. To submit an abstract, please review our submission guidelines. Please fill out this form, Then email your abstract to abstracts@calsalmon.org. Receipt of your submission will be acknowledged by email and forwarded to the correct session chair. 

Fire-Water-Fish Futures Webinar

You are invited to participate in the webinar Tribal-led Climate Modeling Explores Fire Effects on Streamflow presented by Leaf Hillman, Karuk tribal member and Co-Chair of the Tribal Northern Region Leadership Council of North Coast Resource Partnership; and Cleo Woelfle Hazard, Fire Advisor UC Cooperative Extension. Registration is required and you can find more information here. 42nd Annual SRF Conference Hotel Group Blocks, FAQs, and more
SRF will be hosting the conference workshops at the Hotel Paradox and the Courtyard by Marriott is within walking distance to the conference venue in Santa Cruz and we have set up hotel blocks. Hotel rooms will sell out before the conference registration does so please make your hotel reservations early if you plan on registering for the conference. More hotel blocks will be available soon. Conference registration will probably not open until early December but you can reserve your hotel rooms now. For more information on lodging, registration pricing, scholarship opportunities, etc. please check out our FAQs.

Register for the 2025 Poster Session 
The Poster Session will be 7-10 pm on Thursday, March 1 at Cocoanut Grove, the main Conference venue. This annual event is open to all registered conference attendees and is a great venue to network with your peers.

Featured Tour/Workshop: CA Fish Passage
The Using Rapid Assessment Protocols to Gauge the Passability of Barriers to Anadromous Fish Passage, Including Hands-On Experience at Barriers Around Santa Cruz Workshop and Field Tour is capped at 30 participants. Participants will travel by van to a few barriers surrounding Santa Cruz, where participants will use the techniques introduced in the classroom portion to assess example barriers for passability. 2024 Fish and Fire Workshop Videos Now Online
The 2024 workshop Forwarding the Fish & Fire Conversation: Where Do We Go From Here? was a part of the 2024 Annual Conference. The four-part video series is now available on the SRF Vimeo page. SRF also hosts a Fish & Fire resource page, which can be found here.

PMEP Accepting Funding Applications

The Pacific Marine Estuarine Fish Habitat Partnership (PMEP) is seeking project proposals that restore, enhance, and protect habitats for fish within estuarine and nearshore marine systems or that increase understanding of fish habitats in estuarine and nearshore habitats along the U.S. West Coast (Washington, Oregon, and California). The Request for Proposals and instructions are here.

The California Fish Passage Forum receives funding to support projects which advance our shared goals of protecting, restoring, and enhancing fish habitat. Application instructions can be found here

NOAA Fish Passage Funding
Due Feb 27, 2025
NOAA is seeking proposals for fish passage projects that will reopen migratory pathways and restore access to healthy habitats for fish around the country. Two funding pathways are available, one focuses on tribal priorities. Learn more here.
