2024 SRF Conference Proposal Solicitation
March 26 - 29, 2024 Santa Rosa
SRF is happy to announce that the 41st Annual Conference will be held in Santa Rosa, California on March 26 - 29, 2024. The Initial Call for Proposals is now open; to submit a proposal for a workshop, session, or field tour, please fill out this form by Monday, August 21. The First Call for Abstracts will be posted in September 2023. Questions can be emailed to abstracts@calsalmon.org.
25th Annual Coho Confab
Friday, August 25 - Sunday, August 27, 2023
Join SRF, Sanctuary Forest, Mattole Restoration Council, Mattole Salmon Group, and other partnering restoration groups for a destination Confab on the Mattole River in Petrolia, CA. This Confab will feature Mattole estuary and headwaters restoration projects, flow enhancement projects including Sanctuary Forest’s Baker Creek String of Pearls, large wood projects, grassland restoration, and a suite of other techniques that are implemented or are being planned in this critical watershed. There are only 20 spaces left for this special event. The Confab is funded by CDFW's Fisheries Restoration Grant Program. Learn more and register here. Margie Caisley Confab Scholarship
A generous donor has renewed the scholarship for the upcoming Coho Confab in Margie Caisley’s name. Margie was beloved by the restoration community and her many colleagues. Her motto was, “Go Big or Go Home.” This scholarship award is going to a worthy recipient. This scholarship will provide an aspiring engineer / restoration practitioner a full scholarship to the upcoming Coho Confab. Please fill out this brief scholarship request form by August 4.
Sanctuary Forest Radio Show Features Coho Confab
Sanctuary Forest hosts Anna Rogers and Tasha McKee are joined by Dana Stolzman, Executive Director of Salmonid Restoration Federation, and Brock Dolman of the Occidental Arts & Ecology Center to discuss the upcoming 25th Annual Coho Confab on August 25-27, 2023. This Confab will feature Mattole estuary and headwaters restoration projects, flow enhancement projects including Sanctuary Forest’s Baker Creek String of Pearls, large wood projects, grassland restoration, and a suite of other techniques that are implemented or are being planned in this critical watershed. Flow Enhancement Projects Radio Interview
SRF was interviewed by Alicia Hamann of Friends of the Eel River for a recent episode of the EcoNews Report about SRF’s streamflow enhancement efforts in the South Fork of the Eel River. The topics of the show include the current construction of the Marshall Ranch Streamflow Enhancement project and the flow enhancement implementation plans in Redwood and Sproul Creek.
