Where is the 2018 Conference facility?

The 2018 Annual Salmonid Restoration conference will be held at the Fortuna River Lodge Conference Center at 1800 Riverwalk Dr, Fortuna, CA 95540.

What are the start and end times during the conference?

Wednesday and Thursday workshops and field tours are 9am to 5pm on April 11 and 12. Field tours promptly depart at 9am, so please come to the facility early to pick up your registration packet and pack a lunch for the day. Vans are provided for field tours.

The sessions on Friday and Saturday, April 13 and 14, begin at 9am and generally go until 5pm.

The evening events are:

Thursday's SRF Annual Membership Meeting, Dinner, and Film Screening starts at 5:30 pm. Purchase tickets to the dinner and film screening.
Friday's free Conference Poster Session is 7-10 pm.
Saturday's Annual Awards Ceremony, Banquet, Cabaret, and Dance Band doors open at 6 pm. Because this event usually sells out, purchase tickets early to ensure a spot.

What are my hotel options while attending the 2018 Conference?

SRF has set up a group block with the Comfort Inn in Fortuna, CA. They are offering both double and king rooms at $88 until March 28, 2018. This rate includes a continental breakfast, wifi, and parking. You can make your reservation by calling (707) 725-7025 and asking for the SRF Conference group block rate or using this link.

The Redwood Riverwalk Hotel has sold out.

The Best Western Country Inn group block has sold out but individual rooms may still be available. Contact them at (707) 725-6822.

The Super 8 Motel Fortuna has rooms available.

All of the above hotels are walking distance to the conference facility.

SRF is excited to offer rooms at the historic Eagle House in Eureka, CA, now called the Inn at 2nd and C, about 19 miles north of the conference facility. When and how can I present during the 2018 Conference Poster Session?

The Poster Session will be from 7-10 pm on Friday, April 13, 2018 at the Fortuna River Lodge. This annual event is open to all conference attendees and a great venue to network with your peers. There is no cost to attend or present a poster. We encourage posters, pamphlet distribution, software exhibits, and multimedia (video) presentations.

How do I nominate someone for an award?

Please submit 200 words or more to nominate candidates for the illustrious Restorationist of the Year Award, the Golden Pipe Award for Innovation, the Lifetime Achievement Award, and the new Gordon Becker Memorial River Advocate Award.

The restoration community mourns the loss of our colleague and friend, Gordon Becker, who is memorialized in this beautiful tribute. The Gordon Becker Memorial River Advocate Award is for candidates who have been strong river advocates or stewards.

All of these awards will be presented at the 2018 Salmonid Restoration Conference.

Should I sign up for field tours and the Banquet in advance or can I decide at the conference?

Space is limited for the field tours and the Banquet; they are expected to sell out. We strongly advise advance registration to ensure that you can go on a field tour and attend the Banquet. The Banquet includes a wild Copper River salmon dinner, local wine and beer, awards ceremony, Cabaret, and a great dance band.

What meals are included in the cost of my registration?

Registration on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday (April 11-14, 2018) includes lunch, either at the facility if you are staying on site or a packed lunch if you are going on a field tour.

Evening meals during the conference are optional on the following dates:

Thursday, April 12: The SRF Annual Membership Meeting and Dinner begins at 5:15pm. Please purchase tickets in advance and they may be available at the door. Free beer is included at the membership dinner!
Friday, April 13: Appetizers will be available during the Conference Poster Session from 7-10pm. Wine and beer will be for sale.
Saturday, April 14: The Annual Conference Banquet and Cabaret is a conference highlight. The SRF banquet in Fortuna always sells out. Please purchase your tickets in advance to ensure a banquet ticket.

All meals will feature locally sourced and organic ingredients whenever possible.

If I register for a workshop or tour that is full will I be able to get a refund?

SRF will contact you to see if you would like to sign up for another workshop or tour or transfer your registration to one of your colleagues. If not, we will provide a refund for your tour/workshop, which you may not receive until after the conference.
