20th Annual Coho Confab

Thursday, August 24, 2017 to Saturday, August 26, 2017

Salmonid Restoration Federation, in cooperation with the California Department of Fish and Wildlife, Mattole Restoration Council, Mattole Salmon Group, and Sanctuary Forest, offered workshops and tours of off-channel slough restoration, forest and fuels reduction projects, water conservation practices, stream bank stabilization, large woody debris placement, and groundwater recharge projects. This Confab was held at the Mattole Grange in Petrolia, CA, within the Lost Coast region, one of the largest wilderness areas and the longest stretch of undeveloped coastline in the continental United States. The Confab specifically included tours of Mattole estuary off-channel slough excavations, riparian restoration, and heliwood procurement.
